Respect for Persons – Behaviour and Attitude in Social Construction of Autonomy. Informed Consent Case Study

Frunza, A.(2015). Respect for Persons – Behaviour and Attitude in Social Construction of Autonomy. Informed Consent Case Study, 7th LUMEN International Conference –  Multidimensional Education and Professional Development. Ethical Values – MEPDEV 2015, 12th – 14th November 2015, Targoviste, Romania

The article aims at presenting an analysis on the respect for persons, in terms of evaluative respect as it was drawn by Hudson (1980), considering a research ethics matter – the informed consent given by elder chronically-ill patients. We will expose some reflections on the possible dilemma arising in the decision that patients have to take in relation with their own interest and their family’s interest, when they are invited, by their physicians to participate in clinical trials of a new drug against the disease they has been suffering from.
